Calvin: God is the Sovereign King (Romans 11:33-12:1)

Adam Mabry, June 17, 2012
Part of the Faith of our Fathers series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

John Calvin is one of the most important church fathers to have lived, in part because of his relentless application of the centrality and sovereignty of God in all things. In this sermon, Pastor Adam explores the faith and life of John Calvin, and it's implications. What we discover is a God who not only saves us into newness of life, but then rules the new life he gives.

Romans 11:33-12:1

33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
35 “Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”

36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. (ESV)
