Luther - God Saves (Romans 1:16-17)

Adam Mabry, June 10, 2012
Part of the Faith of our Fathers series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The life of Martin Luther is thick with influence. Today, however, we focus on the core of Luther's convictions: the fact that God saves. Luther's life, theology, and example all remind us that God is the God who saves by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, revealed in the Word of God alone, allowing us to truly live for the glory of God, alone.

Romans 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (ESV)
