Aletheia started out as a small meeting in Pastor Adam’s house with less than a dozen people. Now, God has birthed from that small seed a DIVERSE, GROWING CHURCH in Cambridge, right in the midst of Harvard, Tufts, B.U., Northeastern, and MIT.

WHY ALETHEIA? We decided to name the church ALETHEIA, which is the Greek word for truth. When John Winthrop, Boston’s first leader, was about to found the city, he said to his colonists, “For we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us”.

All over this great city, universities’ seals are marked with the words truth, light, and virtue, and yet most of them have forgotten what— or rather who—Truth really is. Jesus said, “I am truth.” Our city seems to have been destined to bring truth. So, ALETHEIA SEEMED A FITTING NAME, as we wish to bring Jesus to the city.

Our story is far from over. In fact, IT’S JUST BEGINNING. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter shapes up to be. We’d be thrilled if you’d JOIN US to find out.
